Last Sunday, did an early morning (5am) departure for the floating markets on the Mekong River. It was dark when we started, and lovely to see the sun come up over the boats. The Mekong Delta is a big agricultural center for tropical fruits for the rest of the country, and the boats range from big commercial containers to smaller individual vendors.

Oh, misty and humid weather? Really the best imaginable scenario for my hair.

Before the toll road between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta was built, we took this ferry down part of the river to get to Can Tho.This ferry has since been retired-- I miss taking the ferry! |

It was a great day off for sure. I wandered around a little bit back in Can Tho until the 5am wakeup caught up with me-

And discovered yet another delicious treat-- a think rice paper crepe with bananas sliced on top, then toasted on an outdoor grill.
And indulged in a ($5!!!) hour-long foot massage that began with a warm tea soak.
|
We stopped to sit with the carver, Binh, streetside. |
|
We are not the only Binh fans! |
Coming up, our last night in Can Tho with some amazing good-bye dining!
